Position OverviewJoin Concorde Education as a passionate and engaging STEM Educator! We are looking for individuals who can lead dynamic after-school enrichment courses, providing students with hands-on, project-based learning experiences that ignite curiosity and enhance problem-solving skills across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Your instruction will revolve around inquiry and design-based activities tailored to different grade levels. You will facilitate exciting experiments, design challenges, and coding fundamentals, making STEM concepts accessible and enjoyable for all students.
What You Will TeachStudents will dive into STEM concepts through interactive lessons where they will ask questions, test ideas, analyze results, and refine their designs. Depending on the specific course, you may focus on areas such as engineering design, coding, robotics, or a mix of various STEM disciplines through themed projects.
Major Topics Can Include- STEM inquiry routines and safety expectations
- Engineering design process (plan, build, test, revise, improve)
- Hands-on science exploration (properties of matter, forces/motion, energy, ecosystems-grade dependent)
- Data collection and interpretation (measurement, graphs, patterns, conclusions)
- Design challenges with accessible materials (bridges, towers, vehicles, simple machines)
- Coding and computational thinking (sequencing, loops, conditionals-platform dependent)
- Robotics exploration (beginner-level kits; introduction to sensor concepts)
- Applied math in STEM (estimation, ratios, geometry concepts, measurement)
- Collaboration and teamwork (planning, communication, reflection)
- STEM careers and real-world applications (age-appropriate exploration)
- Deliver a 10-session STEM enrichment course with well-defined objectives and hands-on instruction.
- Prepare and manage materials safely, including setup and cleanup routines.
- Facilitate engaging experiments and design challenges with structured guidance and student choice.
- Differentiate instruction to support various readiness levels and learning needs.
- Create a safe and inclusive environment that aligns with site policies and expectations.
- Communicate professionally with site staff and Concorde program contacts regarding attendance and completion tracking.
- Adapt pacing and activities while ensuring intended learning outcomes are met.
- Assist students in creating a culminating artifact that showcases their STEM learning.
- Minimum of 60 college credits (or Associate degree in progress/completed).
- Comfortable teaching foundational STEM concepts through hands-on, inquiry-based activities.
- Experience working with school-age students in structured settings (school, camp, after-school, tutoring, youth programs).
- Strong facilitation skills with clear communication abilities and familiarity with managing materials and procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional; ability to follow school policies and program guidelines.
- Capability to maintain organized, engaging, and safety-first routines in the classroom.
