POSITION DETAILS

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting directly to the Chair of the SEEK Department

  • Produces and manages the Department’s Master Calendar of meetings and events for all SEEK initiatives.

  • Oversees scheduling of online fourth‑floor conference room calendar accessible to all campus departments

  • Support Director with management of SEEK budget

  • Oversees travel budget for faculty and staff

  • Prepares quarterly financial reports for the director

  • Projects salaries for non‑teaching and college assistants for each semester, and processes timesheets

  • Processes honoraria and new vendors

  • Serves as principal contact and source of information for faculty, staff, and students as well as external patrons

  • Conveys new policies and procedures impacted by decisions made by supervisors at meetings to hourly staff

  • Manages department procedures and assists management planning department activities, creating schedules and assigning staff

  • Provides administrative support for adjuncts

  • Supervises part‑time staff

  • Schedules leadership workshops and training for college assistants

  • Connects students to resources on and off campus

  • Creates forms and procedural manuals for office staff

  • Serves on various committees

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree and four years’ relevant experience required.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Provides administrative and program support to an administrative or academic department.

  • Oversees department operations and assists management in planning department activities, creating schedules, assigning staff and preparing and delivering department communications.

  • Works with appropriate offices related to personnel recruitment, expediting search activities

  • Research coordinates and organizes materials for key events such as promotion and tenure reviews.

  • Supervises and trains support staff and student workers.

  • Manages budget and coordinates purchasing, accounting, and payroll.

  • Provides instructions and basic advice to students, faculty, and others seeking information on department activities, policies, and schedules.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.
