Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the Building Principal, the teacher supports student success by providing high-quality instruction, advancing students' academic and interpersonal skills, and implementing curriculum aligned with New York State standards and Victor's district priorities.
Compensation/Pay Range:
$48,502 (negotiable based on experience)

Schedule:
Full-time/10 month
Paid hours/day: 7 hours 30 minutes, including a duty-free lunch
Essential Functions
* Designs, implements, and assesses mathematics instruction aligned with the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards and Victor CSD's instructional goals, including commitments to equity and access.
* Establishes a classroom environment that is safe, predictable, inclusive, and conducive to whole-group, small-group, and individualized learning.
* Develops high-quality lesson plans, instructional materials, and learning tasks that reflect best practices in pedagogy and differentiation.
* Regularly assesses student learning and adjusts instructional strategies to meet individual needs, including the needs of students with disabilities and multilingual learners.
* Provides targeted small-group and individual instruction to support academic progress.
* Integrates instruction in responsible citizenship, collaboration, and critical thinking in alignment with district priorities.
* Engages in continuous professional learning and remains current on developments in curriculum, assessment, and effective instruction.
* Maintains accurate and timely records in accordance with district expectations, state laws, and federal requirements.
* Fosters strong communication and partnership with parents/guardians to support student success.
* Ensures that student conduct aligns with district policies and the school's expectations for behavior and mutual respect.
* Collaborates with grade-level and department colleagues to review curriculum, share instructional practices, and engage in ongoing improvement efforts.
* Selects, requests, and maintains appropriate instructional materials, resources, and technologies.
* Supervises students in non-classroom settings as assigned, including hallways, lunch, recess, and transportation-related activities.
* Administers district and state assessments in accordance with Victor CSD protocols.
Additional Duties
Performs other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or designated District Office administrators.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Knowledge of effective teaching methods, instructional pedagogy, and differentiation practices aligned with diverse learning styles.

* Knowledge of relevant federal and state education laws and regulations.

Qualifications Profile
Certification / License:
Valid NYS Certification (appropriate to grade level or discipline)
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related discipline required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
Successful prior teaching experience at the appropriate grade level is preferred
Demands / Hazards:
Work is performed in standard school and classroom settings.
Equipment:
Uses district-standard technologies including, but not limited to, computers, printers, copiers, communication systems, and instructional software.
Travel:
Travel to district buildings and occasional professional meetings as required.
