Talent Vision, a leading Staffing and Consulting Firm, is partnering with a distinguished Elementary public charter school in the Bronx, NY to recruit an experienced bilingual Dean of Students
. This is a unique opportunity to foster academic, social, and emotional success among a diverse student population and cultivate a positive school culture rooted in excellence and equity.
- Promote and maintain a supportive, inclusive, and high-expectations school environment where all students feel a sense of belonging and motivation to learn.
- Develop, implement, and oversee school-wide behavior support systems, disciplinary policies, restorative practices, and interventions aligned with the school’s values and mission.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for student behavior and discipline concerns, conduct fair investigations, mediate conflicts, and ensure consistent application of policies.
- Provide mentorship, counseling, and individualized support to students, including social‑emotional guidance, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention when needed.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families, especially Spanish‑speaking families, to develop plans that address student needs and strengthen family engagement.
- Use student data, including behavior trends, attendance patterns, and incident reports, to identify needs, inform interventions, and track progress in student behavior and school climate.
- Lead or support school‑wide initiatives that promote a positive school culture, including character development, student leadership programs, assemblies, events, and recognition systems.
- Provide training and professional development for staff on restorative practices, equitable discipline, social‑emotional learning (SEL), and effective classroom management.
- Support school leadership with policy development, school safety procedures, attendance protocols, and compliance with all school expectations and regulations.
- Maintain strong communication among students, families, teachers, and administrators to ensure alignment on expectations and student supports.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with fluency in both spoken and written Spanish.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in student support, school discipline, counseling, or a related field, preferably in urban, high‑need, or charter school settings.
- Demonstrated experience with social‑emotional learning, trauma‑informed practices, restorative justice, and equitable discipline approaches.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and coach staff, including facilitating professional development.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and respond effectively in crisis situations.
