POSITION SUMMARY

Fordham University, the Jesuit university of New York, seeks a part-time, academic-year Production Engineer to support teaching and learning delivered by the Department of Communication and Media Studies in the University Library’s state‑of‑the‑art broadcast studio. The ideal applicant will be skilled and experienced in studio production and may also support the Student Television initiative and university video production projects. While this is not a teaching instructor position, this hands‑on technical role is student‑facing and, working with faculty from the Department of Communication and Media Studies, will make a contribution to student learning by running the studio during classes and student activities.

This is a non-benefited position at Fordham’s Bronx campus. The job assumes a 10‑hour work‑week during the academic year (late August to mid‑December and then mid‑January to mid‑May) to support the university’s varied class times. Working hours may include evening sessions (Fordham classes run until 9:20 pm).

This position reports to the Department of Communication and Media Studies, but works under the supervision of the television studio’s manager. The role requires proven expertise in operating state‑of‑the‑art studio equipment in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative professional capable of working with students, faculty and staff to achieve high‑quality production outcomes. They should also have a deep commitment to student success, and the ability to foster an inclusive, supportive and interactive learning environment.
