Associate Director of Pre-College ; HEA

Overview

Associate Director of Pre-College Recruitment (HEA) at The Grove School of Engineering, The City College of New York. The position reports to the Dean of Engineering and leads strategic efforts to build and sustain pathways for high school students, particularly from underrepresented backgrounds, into engineering programs  role focuses on cultivating partnerships with local schools, developing STEM enrichment programs, and increasing undergraduate enrollment through targeted recruitment initiatives.

• Design and lead outreach programs that engage NYC high school students in STEM experiences linked to GSOE.
• Establish long-term partnerships with high schools, community organizations, and youth programs to create educational pipelines.
• Organize on-campus and virtual events, including STEM camps, summer bridge programs, and information sessions.
• Work closely with the Office of Admissions to align recruitment strategies with GSOE enrollment goals.
• Collaborate with faculty, student ambassadors, and alumni to support mentorship and awareness initiatives.
• Track and analyze outreach outcomes to refine strategy and ensure continual enrollment growth.

Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in education, STEM, or public engagement preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in outreach, recruitment, or youth development programming.
• Familiarity with NYC K–12 education landscape.
• Experience with advancing projects that require coordination with multiple stakeholders.

Manages a comprehensive support program to promote learning and academic success for a targeted student population.

• Develops, recommends, and implements program goals and objectives to meet students' specialized needs; coordinates delivery of services across multiple functions, developing new programs and activities as needed
• Advocates for students, and partners with academic and student support functions to ensure students effectively utilize programs and services; collaborates with counselors, mentors, and others assisting students
• Maintains ongoing communications with targeted student population as well as department management, advisory groups, and external organizations
• Collects data for, analyzes, and reports on activities and outcomes
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Exempt

Salary Range: $98,995 - $121,194. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
