Lecturer – Nursing Department

The Department of Nursing at the College of Staten Island (CSI) is currently seeking candidates for a Lecturer position. The position is anticipated to begin in August 2026. As a member of the consortium of three senior City University of New York (CUNY) colleges that offer undergraduate and graduate nursing degrees, this Nursing Faculty position presents an exceptional opportunity for the successful candidates to participate in the continued intellectual and institutional growth and development of the long‑standing Nursing Department within the City University of New York.

CSI is a senior CUNY College organized around two academic divisions and two schools with over 11,000 students. The College awards associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral (DNP, DPT, and EdD) degrees, and in collaboration with the CUNY Graduate Center, offers numerous PhD programs. CSI’s internationally recognized faculty passionately engage in scholarly and artistic activities, and together with a strong professional staff, lead students through transformational learning experiences both inside and outside of the classroom.

The College is situated on a 204‑acre site, has recently incorporated a residential component, and is currently engaging in capital expansion. It is a hub of intellectual and artistic activity, a community partner, and a source of economic impact and job creation for the greater Staten Island area.

This is a full‑time, in‑person teaching position. The lecturer role is tenure‑bearing through a certificate of continuous employment (CCE), after a positive sixth annual reappointment.

Qualified candidates will have experience in Nursing Education and a solid understanding of accreditation standards. Qualifications include the ability to teach successfully and provide service; a commitment to inclusive excellence; strong communication skills; and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the department and institution.

  • Registered Nursing License in NYS, unencumbered.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • Three‑to‑five years of professional nursing practice in pediatrics or medical‑surgical nursing.
