The Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) seeks a visionary leader to serve as Dean of Health Sciences and Nursing. This executive role provides strategic leadership for all health sciences and nursing programs, ensuring academic excellence, innovation, and alignment with industry standards. The Dean will shape programmatic direction, foster faculty development, and champion student success in one of the most dynamic healthcare environments in the world.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide strategic vision for health sciences and nursing programs, driving innovation in curriculum, simulation, AI, and telehealth technologies.
- Oversee accreditation processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop faculty and staff, promoting an inclusive and collaborative academic culture.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure financial sustainability.
- Build partnerships with healthcare organizations, government agencies, and community groups to expand clinical opportunities and research collaborations.
- Lead fundraising and external engagement initiatives, including securing grants and philanthropic support.
- Advance diversity, equity, and inclusion through measurable initiatives in faculty hiring, student recruitment, and curriculum design.
- Represent BMCC in internal and external forums and serve on institutional committees.
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. Additional qualifications are defined below by the College.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- MD, DO, doctoral degree in nursing, health sciences, or related field preferred.
- 5–12 years of progressive leadership experience in academic health sciences or nursing.
- Proven success in accreditation, curriculum development, and faculty management.
- Demonstrated ability in fundraising, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Experience with educational technologies, clinical simulation, and telehealth.
- Record of scholarship and research leadership.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSSalary range is $160,000 - $185,000; commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience.
