Strong candidates for this position will have a clear and forward vision of the future of the historical medical library in an independent institutional research environment including use of digital tools, a background in the history of health sciences, and experience in library/archival administration. Candidates should have extensive management experience in a library or cultural heritage environment, including with strategic planning and implementation.

The Head of HARE will oversee day-to-day operations, mentor and lead the team, and ensure that engagement and partnerships are strategically aligned with the priorities of other HSL departments, related units across the University Library, and those of UNC campus.
