General DescriptionSUNY Niagara has a need for a part time Music/Theatre Instructor for our Introduction to Sound course. This course is taught in person in a classroom setting on our Sanborn, NY campus. This is a lecture‑demonstration‑laboratory‑performance and operation course. The content areas include responsibility of an audio engineer, principles of sound, equipment, all aspects of audio production from pre‑production through post‑production.
The practical experience would be provided through participation in one or more of the productions presented in the theatre space (not limited to theatre productions) and any other available relevant audio related productions that may happen throughout the semester.
Remuneration for this position is: $960 per lecture hour/$860 per lab hour.
In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co‑workers, supervisors and the campus community. Must be able to develop, prepare and present information. Must able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position and must adjust any teaching to the Americans with Disabilities Act provisions.
Required Qualifications- Must be certified in AVID Pro Tools software.
- Possess extensive knowledge in both Analog & Digital sound equipment and proper setup.
- 3 years’ of experience in the field of live sound setups.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in related field.
- Experience using Microsoft Office software i.e. Excel and Word.
- Experience with the Brightspace learning management system.
AVID Pro Tools software certification
