Teaching will constitute approximately 70% of the appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute through research, service, and community engagement. Salary between $150,000 and $180,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Qualifications- Doctoral degree (PhD) in Electrical and Computer Engineering or equivalent, completed by the starting date.
- Professional engineering licensure in Canada, or eligibility to obtain licensure (P.Eng., limited, provisional).
- Outstanding teaching contributions at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, genuine commitment to academic and teaching excellence. Active learning strategies and experiential learning assets but not required.
- Demonstrated excellence in research, including evidence of high‑quality scholarly output, potential for independent research and external funding.
- Ongoing commitment to academic and pedagogical excellence supporting the department’s programs.
- Evidence of ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary and student‑centred environment.
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in microelectronics and photonics.
- Guide students through research projects, mentoring, and thesis supervision.
- Publish research, pursue external funding, and contribute to departmental research agenda.
- Engage in departmental, faculty, and university service, including committee participation.
- Promote inclusive teaching practices, equity, diversity, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary centres and industry partners.
Annual salary commensurate with qualifications, base salary $150,000–$180,000.

Location and CommunityUniversity is situated on traditional territories of Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe in historic Kingston on Lake Ontario shores. Kingston offers cultural and creative opportunities, access to natural areas, proximity to First Nations communities, and a vibrant city life. Kingston is within two‑hour drive to Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and thirty minute drive to international bridge to upstate New York.
