With a substantial city‑wide shortage of qualified special education professionals, your expertise is urgently required to ensure students receive the personalized instruction they deserve.

This is a chance to work directly with students who need specialized academic support, assisting them in reaching their educational goals through targeted intervention and evidence‑based instruction.

As a SETSS provider with Knowledge Road, you will provide individualized and small‑group instruction in school settings, partnering collaboratively with families and school teams to advance student progress and academic achievement.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality, individualized, and small‑group instruction to students with disabilities, in alignment with their Individualized Education Service Programs (IESP).
  • Ensure completion of each student's weekly IESP mandates and maintain an intervention schedule coordinated with the school timetable.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly progress reports and maintain bi‑weekly family communication with clear updates on progress and next steps.
  • Document service delivery and student performance in Knowledge Road's system with accurate, timely documentation.
  • Design and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that address the specific academic, social, and emotional needs of each student.
  • Partner with parents, teachers, and other school staff to build a supportive and inclusive learning environment for your students.
  • Track and monitor student progress, providing regular updates to families and school‑based teams.
  • Take part in IESP meetings as needed, contributing valuable insights and recommendations to advance student success.
Qualifications
  • NYS Students with Disabilities (B‑2, 1‑6, 7‑12, or All Grades) or NYS Literacy Specialist.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Must not have been employed by NYC DOE within the last 12 months.
  • Experience teaching Math and ELA.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • NYC DOE fingerprinting status/approval is required, or a willingness to complete them before starting.
