Part-time Adult Educator - English Second Language

The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs is seeking Part‑time Adult Educators to support the Adult English as a Second Language program. Classes will be held on weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays at the Adult Learning Center in Garden City.

• Teaching beginner to advanced levels of English speaking, reading, and writing to adult learners
• Maintaining accurate attendance records
• Fulfilling 14 hours of New York State mandated professional development

• New York State Education Department (NYSED) Certification in a K‑12 Academic Area
• NYSED Certification:
  Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language (TESOL), Literacy and Reading, and/or Bilingual extension is preferred
• Prior experience as a classroom teacher
• Ability to work weekdays, evenings, and/or Saturdays
