Part‑time Adult Educator - English as a Second Language

The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs is seeking Part‑time Adult Educators to support the Adult English as a Second Language program. Classes will be held on weekdays, evenings and Saturdays at the Adult Learning Center in Garden City.
- Teaching beginner to advanced levels of English speaking, reading, and writing to adult learners
- Maintaining accurate attendance records
- Fulfilling 14 hours of New York State mandated professional development
- New York State Education Department (NYSED) Certification in a K-12 Academic Area
- NYSED Certification:
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language (TESOL), Literacy and Reading, and/or Bilingual extension is preferred - Prior experience as a classroom teacher
- Ability to work weekdays, evenings and/or Saturdays
SALARY – As per labor contract
