SCHEDULE: M – F 8:00am–3:15pm
REPORTS TO: Faculty Administrator
SALARY: $65,000-$90,000/Annually (Prorated depending on start date)- Commensurate with experience and qualifications and aligned with the school’s faculty salary step scale.
Position OverviewBrooklyn Waldorf School seeks a full-time 3rd Grade Co-Teacher with Special Education training to join our faculty immediately. This role involves co‑teaching and supporting a 3rd grade class in close collaboration with the lead class teacher, with a focus on inclusive classroom practices and differentiated instruction.
The Co‑Teacher supports the academic, social, and emotional development of students while helping ensure that diverse learning needs are met within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities Co-Teaching & Instructional Support- Collaborate closely with the lead class teacher to plan and deliver main lessons and skills classes.
- Support differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom practices, particularly for students requiring additional learning support.
- Assist with classroom management and student engagement during lessons and transitions.
- Apply special education training to support students with varied learning needs.
- Collaborate with learning support staff to implement accommodations and strategies.
- Contribute observations and documentation to support student progress and planning.
- Participate in faculty meetings, grade-level collaboration, and school events.
- Support class community life, including festivals and performances.
- Communicate professionally with colleagues and families, as appropriate to the role.
- Bachelor’s degree and teaching experience required.
- Special Education training or certification required.
- Waldorf teaching experience or training preferred; willingness to pursue Waldorf professional development expected.
- Strong collaboration, flexibility, and classroom support skills.
- Physical ability to meet the demands of a classroom environment.
