Riverdale Country School is a Pre‑K through Grade 12 independent all‑gender school in New York City. The school is dedicated to inspiring students to live meaningful and purpose‑driven lives through academic excellence, critical thinking, and curiosity in a diverse and inclusive community.

Position Overview and Responsibilities

Associate Teachers are members of a cohort program designed for educators in the early stages of their career. They work alongside a Head Teacher and support students in small‑group or one‑to‑one instruction, with occasional opportunities to lead full‑group lessons. Full‑time faculty members collaborate on planning, instruction, and assessment connected to student learning. They also receive ongoing professional development and may remain at Riverdale for up to three years.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree is required. Preference is given to candidates with prior experience working with elementary‑aged students and a master's degree in a related field. Faculty are expected to engage in all aspects of work with an open mind, positive disposition, commitment to collaboration, and dedication to supporting a diverse and inclusive community.

Compensation Range

Base salary: $50,000.00/yr – $62,000.00/yr (based on the Associate Teacher salary scale). The range for the upcoming year will be approximately $44,000–$54,000 depending on experience.
