Midlands Technical College’s Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) Division is seeking an experienced and passionate contract instructor to deliver classroom and hands‑on training to prepare citizens for entry‑level careers in next‑generation manufacturing and production roles.
What You'll DoDevelop and deliver engaging, hands‑on instruction aligned with the MSSC CPT curriculum standards, ensuring competency development in:
- Safety
- Quality Practices and Measurement
- Manufacturing Processes and Production
- Maintenance Awareness
- Support a fast‑paced, cohort‑based learning environment designed around employer needs.
- Assess student performance and provide feedback to ensure skill mastery and job readiness.
- Collaborate with college and industry partners to maintain training quality and consistency.
- Significant professional experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, production technology, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of modern manufacturing practices—including safety protocols, quality control, process workflows, and basic maintenance principles.
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred, especially in a hands‑on or industrial setting.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for helping adults gain confidence and skills for high‑demand careers.
- Flexibility to teach a flexible schedule based on enrollment demand and employer needs.
This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.
** This role is contingent on the candidate’s successful completion of the MSSC CPT Certified Instructor pathway, which will be provided and coordinated by the College. Completion of this credential may require 2‑3 days of overnight travel at the College’s expense.**
Associate’s degree in manufacturing, industrial technology, or related skilled trades field and three (3) years of experience; OR five (5) years of industry experience including training or mentoring new production technicians. The candidate must have extensive on‑the‑job experience, knowledge, and training along with the ability to convey that knowledge to others.
Prior experience with the MSSC CPT curriculum or holding a current CPT Instructor Certification; advanced manufacturing experience; prior continuing education program delivery experience; relevant professional certifications and/or licenses.
