The State University of New York College of Optometry is accepting applications for full-time clinical faculty positions. These positions have both clinical and academic responsibilities and appointments are made through the College and the University Eye Center (UEC). Clinical faculty are appointed to one or more of the UEC services:
Adult and Pediatric Primary Care, Advanced Care, or Vision Rehabilitation.
Successful candidates are expected to contribute significantly to the College’s mission in providing excellence in patient care, teaching, and scholarly activity. Clinical faculty responsibilities primarily include clinical supervision of students and occasional direct care assignments. Academic responsibilities include clinical and didactic teaching in the optometry program, and an expectation of scholarship and participation in clinical research.
QualificationsThe position requires a Doctor of Optometry degree. Residency training or advanced degrees are highly desirable. Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure in New York State at the time of hire. Candidates should have a record of educational and scholarly activity appropriate for their level of experience.
Salary & BenefitsThe minimum salary is $100,000 with final salary commensurate with education, training, and experience. There is also a generous benefit package with fifteen days of annual leave per year and thirteen paid holidays per year.
