Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Instructor – Medical Instructor
Pay Range: $45–$65 per hour or per class (based on experience)
Location: Rochester, NY
Employment Type: Part-Time and Full-Time
We are seeking experienced, passionate Registered Nurses to join our education team as a RN instructor who is also a medical instructor
, supporting nursing students in both classroom and clinical environments. This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy teaching, mentoring, and shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.
As a RN instructor
, you will deliver high-quality instruction aligned with nursing education standards while serving as a hands‑on medical instructor in real-world clinical settings. This position offers flexibility, competitive pay, and meaningful impact in nursing education.
Serve as a RN instructor overseeing clinical rotations in hospital and healthcare settings
Work 12-hour clinical shifts starting at 5:45 AM or 6:15 AM
Maintain a 1:10 instructor-to-student ratio
Function as a hands‑on medical instructor teaching core nursing fundamentals and advanced clinical skills
Guide students in patient care activities such as bathing, IV therapy, medication administration, charting, and patient assessments
Model professional nursing standards, safety, and evidence‑based practice
Act as a RN instructor facilitating 15-week courses for Practical Nursing (PN) and nursing degree students
Teach essential topics including nursing fundamentals, patient care, health assessment, and clinical reasoning
Serve as a medical instructor responsible for lesson planning, student engagement, and instructional delivery
Proctor exams, skills check‑offs, and assessments
Provide academic feedback, mentoring, and student performance evaluations
Education: Minimum of a 2-year BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
Licensure: Active New York State RN license in good standing
Certifications: Current CPR Certification
Compliance:
Up-to‑date COVID vaccination
Background check and drug screening (Castle Branch)
Experience:
Clinical nursing experience required
Infusion experience required for infusion visits
Prior teaching, precepting, or instructor experience preferred
Preferred
Skills:Bilingual (Spanish a plus)

Strong communication and leadership skills

Schedule:Monday–Friday, 9‑hour days
