SUNY Niagara’s Child Development Center seeks a part‑time, grant‑funded Lead Teacher. The position is for a maximum of 30 hours per week for about 30 weeks, Monday through Friday, from late August through mid‑May. Reliable transportation is expected.
Typical Work Activities- Planning and preparing the learning environment
- Individualizing infant/toddler routines
- Facilitating curriculum goals and objectives
- Recording and observing monthly assessment measures for children
- Coordinating parent and teacher conferences
- General housekeeping duties
- Serving meals
- Planning and preparing involvement activities and center recruitment
- Other duties assigned by the Director
Ability to relate to a diverse population of children, students, and parents.
Required Qualifications- Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field; OR
- CDA or similar credential and one year of experience caring for children; OR
- Nine college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field with a plan of study leading to a CDA or Associate’s Degree and two years of experience caring for children.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood, Child Development, Elementary Education, or related field li>CDA Credential
- BOCES Early Childhood Education graduate
- State provisional or permanent teacher certification
- At least two years of consistent paid experience as a lead teacher in an infant/toddler classroom within the last four years
