SUNY Niagara’s Child Development Center seeks a part‑time, grant‑funded Lead Teacher. The position is for a maximum of 30 hours per week for about 30 weeks, Monday through Friday, from late August through mid‑May. Reliable transportation is expected.

• Planning and preparing the learning environment
• Individualizing infant/toddler routines
• Facilitating curriculum goals and objectives
• Recording and observing monthly assessment measures for children
• Coordinating parent and teacher conferences
• General housekeeping duties
• Serving meals
• Planning and preparing involvement activities and center recruitment
• Other duties assigned by the Director

Ability to relate to a diverse population of children, students, and parents.

• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field; OR
• CDA or similar credential and one year of experience caring for children; OR
• Nine college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field with a plan of study leading to a CDA or Associate’s Degree and two years of experience caring for children.

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood, Child Development, Elementary Education, or related field

• BOCES Early Childhood Education graduate
• State provisional or permanent teacher certification
• At least two years of consistent paid experience as a lead teacher in an infant/toddler classroom within the last four years
