Art Teacher - Part-Time — One River School of Art + Design, Manhasset, NY

Join a workplace that invests in you and connects you to a creative community. We are seeking a Teacher for Saturday hours teaching students from K–5. You will teach and mentor motivated students, work alongside practicing artists, and grow with a team that invests in your development.

• Teach Art and/or Digital Design Classes: teach weekly, museum-quality art and/or digital art classes and summer camps for a variety of ages and media.
• Ensure Student Success: engage with students and teachers to observe, document and communicate progress and opportunities for growth.
• Implement One River Methodology Curriculum: implement the One River Method through each class; contribute to lesson plan development and be paid extra for doing so.
• Run a best-in-class studio: clean and organize studio spaces and student artwork and/or oversee digital lab maintenance.
• Student Exhibitions: direct students to produce high-quality work for exhibitions in January and June; track progress to ensure exhibition work is completed on time.

• BA/BS in Visual Art, Art Education or Design (Master’s a plus) or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years experience teaching visual arts for K–5. Digital art skills are a plus.
• Track record of high-quality instruction, classroom management, and student progress.
• Clear communicator, organized, and energized by a busy studio environment.
• Live within a 30 minute commute to Manhasset.
• Passion for art history, contemporary art and a “students-first” mindset.

• This is a part-time position with teaching hours on Saturdays.
• Hourly rate: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
