SUNY Niagara has a need for a part‑time Health Education Instructor to teach various health education courses. This position will be responsible for teaching students throughout the academic semester. Remuneration for persons teaching at least 3 credits in a semester: $960 per lecture hour or $860 per lab hour.
In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet its present and future needs, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as‑needed basis, and candidates will be contacted when a department has an opening. Candidates that submit their information may or may not be notified as to the status of their application.
TypicalWork Activities
- Teach courses in the delivery format agreed upon (on campus, hybrid, blended or online)
- Track attendance as needed
- Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester
- Report grades at the conclusion of the semester
Ability to work with, and teach a diverse student population; ability to speak in front of groups of people; must be able to effectively communicate with students, co‑workers, supervisors and the campus community; must be able to develop, prepare and present information; must be able to operate computers; must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Health, Health Education, Human Performance or a related field to teach health‑related classes in the Health & Physical Education Department.
Desirable Qualifications- Master’s Degree in Physical Education or Health, Health Education or a health‑related field;
- Previous teaching experience at a community college or 4‑year college/university;
- Remote learning teaching experience.
- Experience with the Blackboard learning management system.
