Position Title: Part Time Welding Instructor

Position Category: Faculty

Position Status: FLSA Exempt

Department: Business & STEM

SUNY Niagara has a need for part‑time Welding Instructors to teach Welding courses in the Business, Technology & Arts department. Classes are held afternoons/early evenings on the BOCES Sanborn campus. Remuneration: $960 per lecture hour / $860 per lab hour. SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis; openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated as needed, and candidates will be contacted when the department has an opening.

Courses range from Introduction to Welding through Welding Certification. Lessons will be administered according to pre-developed courses taught through practical application.

• Ability to work with, and teach a diverse student population.
• Ability to speak in front of groups of people.
• Effectively communicate with students, co‑workers, supervisors, and the campus community.
• Develop, prepare and present information.
• Operate computers.
• Physically perform the duties of the position.

• Associate Degree in Welding
• Experience with programming Lincoln torch mate plasma table
• Familiarity/operations of Miller welding equipment such as 350P MIG and Syncrowave 300 for stick and TIG process

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding
• Certification in any of the processes of welding
