General DescriptionSUNY Niagara has a need for a part time instructor in Stage Management in our Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences division. This position will be responsible for teaching and advising students throughout the academic year and be responsible for attending meetings as requested.
Classes are held on the main campus in Sanborn, NY.
Typical Work Activities- Instructing in the field of Stage Management, with a focus on the day to day duties and professional expectations and opportunities.
- Adhere to attendance and College grading policies
- Attend and participate in meetings as necessary
Ability to navigate relationships with diverse populations. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Ability to actively involve and engage students in their own learning. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus and external community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information. Must be able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.
Required Qualifications- Bachelors Degree in Theatre or a related field.
- Previous experience working as a Stage Manager
- Master’s Degree in Theatre or related field;
- Previous teaching experience at a college or university
NYS Certification in grades 1-6 and/or K-2 or similar certification preferred
