Lehman College, a Hispanic‑Serving Institution within the City University of New York, welcomes students from diverse backgrounds. The Enrollment Registrar Specialist supports the day‑to‑day operations of the Registrar’s Office by managing the intake and processing of registrar‑related forms and student record requests. This role provides high‑level customer service to students, faculty, and staff, addressing inquiries related to registration, academic records, and college policies via email, phone, and in‑person assistance.
Responsibilities- Oversee the intake and processing of registrar‑related forms and student requests.
- Respond to inquiries via email, phone, and in‑person service, ensuring professional and student‑centered communication.
- Provide high‑level support to students, faculty, and staff regarding registration, records, academic policies, and key systems.
- Utilize systems including CUNYfirst, Degree Works, FACTS, Navigate, Parchment, and Course Dog to support Registrar operations.
- Process purchasing requests such as office supplies, technology equipment, and software renewals, following CUNY procurement procedures.
- Prepare budget reports, travel authorizations/expenses, and summaries for the Senior Registrar to include quarterly updates and projections.
- Manage the Registrar Office shared calendar, scheduling staff meetings, and training sessions.
- Represent the office at campus student events, including orientations, accepted student days, and other enrollment‑related activities.
- Support the Senior Registrar in all other special assignments or duties as needed.
- Coordinate registration services such as grade collection entries and changes, publication of semester course offerings, final examination schedules, classroom scheduling and requests for student information.
- Promote policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations; advise College personnel regarding the development and implementation of responses to regulatory changes.
- Oversee the conformity of record release procedures to management policies and legal requirements, including FERPA and other applicable laws and regulations governing the confidentiality of student records.
- Create and review student communications from the Registrar’s Office; ensure transcript and degree verification requests are handled in a timely manner.
- Recommend and implement improvements to office operations; assist with strategic planning.
- Prepare reports and analyses on registration activities.
- Train faculty and staff on retention techniques, record‑keeping protocol and/or registration systems.
- Supervise office operations and/or department budget (as required).
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience required.
