** Postdoctoral Fellow, First-Year Writing The First-Year Writing Program (FYW) at Barnard College invites applications for a three-year, non-renewable position as Postdoctoral Fellow in the First Year Writing Program. The program teaches the skills of academic writing and critical inquiry to all Barnard students and prepares them for the rigors of Barnard’s liberal arts education in all disciplines.

* Job Description:

** The First-Year Writing Program (FYW) at Barnard College invites applications for a three-year, non-renewable position as Postdoctoral Fellow in FYW. FYW teaches the skills of academic writing and critical inquiry to all Barnard students and prepares them for the rigors of Barnard’s liberal arts education in all disciplines.

Responsibilities include:

* Developing and teaching a 2/2 course load in FYW
* Working with the Director of FYW on pedagogical projects
* Outreach to and writing support for departments across the college
* Program and curricular development in FYWAdditionally, the Postdoc will lead workshops in innovative writing pedagogy for FYW instructors, and will support Barnard faculty and students in writing both in and across the disciplines. The Postdoc will actively pursue research in writing pedagogy and writing programs, with an emphasis on writing across the disciplines and teaching writing to students from a variety of educational backgrounds.

** Required Qualifications
** Applicants must have earned their Ph.D. after May 1, 2023 or must plan to do so by May 2026. Successful applicants will have:
* A background in writing pedagogy
* Experience implementing innovative pedagogies
* Demonstrated excellence in teaching writing at the college level, preferably to students from a range of educational backgrounds (including non-native speakers)
* Experience working in a writing program and/or writing center is strongly preferred
