Overview
The University at Buffalo Gifted Math Program is looking for a part-time experienced mathematics teacher for an after school math class at a grade level in the range 7–12. Classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00–6:30 p.m. or from 6:30–9:00 p.m. They run from September through April. The Gifted Math Program serves 7th–12th graders throughout Western New York who enter this program through rigorous testing.
Responsibilities- Preparing and teaching for 5 hours of class time per week.
- Differentiating instruction for a diverse group of students.
- Communicating with students, parents, and GMP staff by responding in a timely way to emails and phone calls.
- Attending staff meetings.
- Posting grades and assignments on UB Learns in a timely way or supervising an instructional assistant in doing this.
- Helping with student individual needs through feedback, calls home, and conferencing.
- Helping students who are absent due to illness or mandatory school activities obtain missing work.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelors degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education
- New York State teacher’s certification for 7–12 mathematics
