Ethics Faculty

AMDA is specifically seeking instructors to teach post‑secondary level courses which may include ethics, logic, critical thinking, and introductory courses in philosophy. Qualified applicants should submit a cover letter, and salary history for the part‑time Philosophy teaching position. Applicants, who also have professional performing experience, are encouraged to provide those additional details.

• Providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines, and class schedules.
• Creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking.
• Evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and assessing student work.
• Maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
• Fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part‑time/adjunct faculty member.
• Maintaining accurate academic records.

• Master’s degree in philosophy, Humanities, Religion or a related discipline.
• Minimum of three years of college‑level teaching, plus a willingness to learn curriculum‑specific material is required.
• Ability to effectively teach college‑level courses, with a commitment to providing excellence in education, including the ability to present course teachings in such a way that students are encouraged to develop critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, to increase motivation, to develop positive self‑image, and to clarify their values.
• Computer skill proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel software.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population and adapt to change.
• An appreciation for the traditions of a performing arts academic setting.
• Ph.D. degree in Philosophy or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated success teaching at the college level.
• Recent experience in a higher education setting.
• Candidates with teaching experience and expertise in an additional area is highly desired.
• Knowledge and experience in using instructional technology.

• The pay range for this position is $45-$60 hourly.
• This position is subject to a background check upon a conditional offer of employment and a reference check.
