Role and Responsibilities- Designing and delivering professional development sessions, including incorporating feedback and adjusting content based on participant input
- Providing tailored 1:1 coaching and group learning experiences for educators, both in-person and virtual
- Building collaborative, trusting relationships with educators and leaders to strengthen instructional capacity and improve student outcomes
- Supporting data collection, reporting, and reflection processes to measure the effectiveness and impact of coaching and professional learning initiatives
- Deep experience coaching educators in grades K-8 ELA
- Experience teaching or coaching HMH Into Reading and/or EL Education curriculum
- At least two (2) years of experience as an instructional coach with evidence of impact on student learning outcomes
- Experience supporting various levels of instruction across classroom settings
- Strong background in instructional best practices and ability to apply strategies for diverse educators and students
- Experience designing professional development materials or serving as an instructional designer
- Experience facilitating professional learning and coaching in both virtual and in-person settings
- Experience building and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders in an education context
- Experience empowering teachers through trusting relationships and supporting shifts in practice and mindset
- Growth mindset for adults and students; continuously strengthening instructional practices
- Ability to design and deliver high-quality, evidence-based professional learning
- Compelling communication and facilitation skills across diverse educators
- Strong organizational skills to manage complex projects and tight timelines
- Expertise in MTSS, bilingual education, and/or Special Education (SpEd)
Coaches and facilitators deliver high-quality professional learning experiences. Roles are project-based and flexible, with hours dependent on projects and availability. Travel may be required; when travel is needed, follow Teaching Lab travel policies. After each engagement, participate in reflective debriefs to strengthen practice and impact. Maintain discretion and professionalism due to confidential information.
- Contractor roles are not eligible for benefits, retirement, or leave.
On-site work in New York, NY with the ability to travel weekly as needed.
