Overview
AMDA College of the Performing Arts, with campuses in New York City and Hollywood, is one of the foremost post-secondary performing arts colleges in the country. Responsibilities- Providing instruction in accordance with established curricula, course outlines, and class schedules
- Creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking
- Providing a learning vehicle for diversity and inclusion content
- Evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and assessing student work
- Maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics
- Maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas
- Fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time adjunct faculty member
- Maintaining accurate academic records
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Required Educational Credentials:
- Graduate Student in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related fields.
- Undergraduate degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or a related field.
Preferred:
- Terminal Degree, Finance, Business Accounting or a related field.
- Certified Financial Planner certifications such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
- Understand the unique financial challenges faced by artists.
- Experience in financial planning, investment management, or accounting, preferably with a focus on individuals with irregular income streams, freelancers, or entrepreneurs.
- Demonstrated success teaching at the college level.
- Recent experience in a higher education setting.
- Candidates with teaching experience and expertise in an additional area are highly desired.
- Knowledge and experience in using instructional technology.
Required Professional Expertise:
- A minimum of 6 months to 1 year teaching in the related field Finance, in a post-secondary setting
- Experience in financial planning, investment management, or accounting, preferably with a focus on individuals with irregular income streams, freelancers, or entrepreneurs.
- Experience with innovative teaching methodologies that focus on creating an engaging, student-centered learning environment
- Currency and depth of knowledge in the applicable field
- Knowledge of and commitment to teaching strategies and practices that enhance student success at higher education institutions, including effective use of technology
- Excellent oral/written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to academic excellence, exceptional service and providing a dynamic climate for life-long learning
- Successful candidates will be able to apply their discipline expertise in a manner/context that is relevant to emerging performing artists, in an synchronous online environment and through the LMS
- Active scholarship in related field
For administrative and tasks assigned or volunteered outside of classroom teaching hours will be paid at a standard hourly rate of $35 per hour.
Salary
:
Salary Range: $45-$60 per hour for classroom teaching
