Position Summary: New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) has outlined a bold vision to reimagine the educational experience for all NYCPS students so they graduate with real‑world skills, a headstart on postsecondary, and a strong plan to launch them on a rewarding career and long‑term economic security. The Office of Student Pathways (Pathways), under the leadership of the Chief of Student Pathways, is tasked with driving the administration’s bold vision to reimagine the student experience through Career‑Connected Learning (CCL) so that by 2030: 100% of NYCPS students will enter high school with skills in financial literacy and computational thinking and have explored careers of interest.

NYC, the Coordinator of Green Pathways will work to ensure coordination between Community Based Organizations (CBOs), curriculum developers, schools, employers, and an ecosystem of partners developing pathways to strong careers in the HVAC, Decarbonization and Green Jobs sector.

The Coordinator will focus on operationalizing the city’s PlaNYC commitments toward climate action, sustainability and scaling an inclusive green jobs workforce. This role will coordinate across a growing portfolio of FRNYC Schools implementing HVAC/Decarbonization pathways and a portfolio of schools committed to embedding sustainability education and exploration of green careers in their high school learning experience. In consultation with the Senior Director of FRNYC and the Office of Student Pathways team, the role will coordinate resources to ensure the model is implemented with fidelity, supporting schools in meeting FRNYC sequence completion targets.

The work centers around coordination within and across data, progress monitoring and coaching schools to deliver within and across each of FRNYC’s core components:
Career Connected Instruction, Early College Credits and Credentials, Work‑Based Learning (including apprenticeships), Financial Literacy and Personalized Advising.

  • Serve as the single most important point of contact for all schools implementing FRNYC Green Pathways.
  • Support the Senior Director in coordinating efficient use of resources, including budget and spend‑down monitoring aligned to Key Implementation Measures.
  • Assist with Future

    NYC designation for existing schools and the application process for new schools.
  • Support data reporting and student enrollment submissions, review data on multiple measures of quality implementation, and make recommendations for school offboarding where appropriate.
  • Ensure coordination across coaches so that all schools within the green FRNYC portfolio progress along Key Implementation Measures (KIMs).
  • Coordinate across schools and Pathways teams to ensure accountability metrics around enrollment, engagement and completion of early college credit and credentials, work‑based learning, financial literacy and pathway advising are tracked and met.
