Physical Education Teacher, Exercise Science / Kinesiology
Position Summary
Physical Education Teacher with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field and at least three years of experience with elementary, middle, and high school children. The role requires ensuring a positive environment, effective communication, and accurate record keeping.
Essential Functions- Plan and conduct high-quality physical education classes for PreK-12 students, emphasizing safety, fun, differentiation, knowledge, and skill development.
- Evaluate and assess student learning and performance, maintaining records and writing report cards.
- Use learning management and student information systems such as Schoology and Seesaw.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and parents about student progress.
- Collaborate on innovative curriculum design and program development within the Department.
- Participate actively in the school community, coaching interscholastic athletics teams or supporting the After School Sports Program.
- Maintain professional and collaborative relationships with colleagues.
- Commit to personal growth through active participation in professional development.
- Three years of relevant teaching experience across different age ranges.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification.
- Concussion Training.
- Integrity and ability to inspire students and athletes to perform at a high level.
- Strong leadership, motivational, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to social justice, diversity, equity, and anti‑racist, anti‑bias education.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with technology.
- Effective classroom management skills.
- True passion for teaching.
- Knowledge of content and pedagogy of various physical education curriculum areas, including team sports, individual/dual sports, strength and conditioning, dance/gymnastics, and/or yoga.
- Experience playing and/or coaching a team sport at the high‑school level; experience at the college level preferred.
BA in Physical Education (Masters preferred).
Physical RequirementsMust be able to function under fast‑paced and noisy conditions, be active for long periods, hear and understand speech at normal levels, speak in audible tones, and be physically agile to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds.

CompensationHourly Rate: $33 – $66 per hour. Full‑time employment.
