Upper School Occupational Therapist – The Quad Preparatory School
Wanted: an experienced occupational therapist to join our Upper School division. The role includes individual and group OT services for students in grades 6‑12, collaborating with both clinical and academic staff to integrate OT goals into the broader educational environment. The position is full‑time, exempt, and available for the 2025‑26 school year.

Private practice or tutoring opportunities during after‑school hours at reduced rates (staff‑only).
- Provide individual and group occupational therapy services within a collaborative and integrated school model.
- Offer graphomotor, sensory, and visual‑spatial skill‑building interventions creatively.
- Facilitate groups for independence in activities of daily living (ADL), instrumental ADL, and pre‑vocational skills.
- Support other clinical and academic staff to integrate OT goals and individualized sensory regulation strategies into school contexts.
- Collaborate with staff to integrate explicit instruction in executive‑functioning skills throughout the school day.
- Participate in or lead health and wellness classes as assigned.
- Coordinate with outside providers and parents via calls at least monthly, and meet with parents at scheduled conferences.
- Record clinical progress for each student.
- Attend weekly psychosocial team meetings and supervision sessions with direct supervisor.
- Use Google Suite (Drive, Docs) effectively.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Passion for working with children.

- Knowledge of various clinical interventions and collaborative approaches.

Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Valid OTR/L in the State of New York.
- Experience working with children with varying learning needs.

This job operates in a school setting at the ground, fifth, and sixth floors of a building with an elevator. The role requires working in various locations around the school and occasional travel to the Lower School campus (~2 blocks away). The building’s layout permits elevators, and the school operates a ten‑month academic calendar (late August to late June).
Physical DemandsThe position requires regular talking and listening, continuous standing, walking, and climbing stairs. The employee may occasionally lift and move items under 20 pounds and type.
