Overview
Integration Charter Schools is looking for passionate and creative education professionals to join our teaching teams across our network of charter schools. We’re excited about educators who are committed to our inclusive program and to serving all students of Staten Island. As a Math Teacher at ICS, you will play a crucial role in creating inclusive pathways to academic and social-emotional success for all learners in the classroom.
You will work collaboratively with students, families and colleagues to provide a supportive and enriching learning environment.
Integration Charter Schools (ICS) provide innovative pathways to college that fully integrate students with special needs. The ICS network is composed of four schools located on Staten Island, New York. Our guiding principles are teamwork, courage, community and integrity. We integrate these principles into the classroom to enrich students’ learning experiences. We offer opportunities for students to earn college credits through partnerships with higher education institutions, allowing them to gain valuable experience and accelerate their academic journey.

Instruction and Preparation
- Craft and deliver engaging lessons that energize students across various subjects, enriching their educational journey
- Address the learning needs of all learners in the classroom
- Plan instruction that creates independent learning opportunities for students
- Present a passion for learning, growth mindset and a love for the subject matter
- Deliver high-quality content in the assigned content area, integrating Social Emotional instructional practices
- Tailor teaching methods to meet the unique learning needs of every student
- Lead by example, demonstrating a passion for learning and nurturing student growth
Relationship Building and Student Support
- Create a safe learning environment physically, emotionally and intellectually for all stakeholders
- Make space for student voice and choice
- Apply ICS principles to manage conflicts and redirect undesired behavior
- Manage student behaviors and use mistakes as learning opportunities
- Hold a high bar for effort, persistence and quality of work; celebrate progress and student achievement
Community Engagement
- Create positive relationships with families and provide weekly communication touchpoints as needed
- Provide families with tools and tips to support students at home
- Embrace and celebrate diversity, creating an inclusive classroom reflecting the community
Professional Responsibilities
- Commit to reflective practice and responsiveness to feedback
- Participate in school and network-wide professional development (mentorship, coaching cycles, observation and feedback)
- Maintain accurate records for grading, progress monitoring and communication
- Collaborate with colleagues and invest in your professional growth
- Support the school as directed by leadership and foster an inclusive environment
- Lead by example, modeling a love of learning

Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Ability to become certified in New York and pass the state licensure exam (if not already certified)
- Patience, empathy and the ability to motivate students toward their potential
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude
- Commitment to an inclusive and diverse classroom environment
Schedule and Compensation
Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM | $66,732 - $103,271
* Salary is dependent on education level and years of teaching experience
