ESL Instructor

The 32BJ Training Fund is seeking qualified candidates for part-time English as a Second Language instructors for in-person classes taught in Bronx, New York. SEIU 32BJ is a service union that represents cleaners, maintenance workers, service staff, and security officers in the New York City area and nine other states on the East Coast.

• Plan, adapt, and implement lesson plans aligned to the program curriculum and incorporate the provided educational materials.
• Teach English conversation skills through a student-centered teaching approach.
• Maintain and submit records of attendance.
• Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor.
• Participate in relevant professional development activities, as available.

• MA in TESOL, TESL, TEFL, or CELTA
• Minimum of 4 years teaching experience
• Proficient English speakers with strong knowledge of English and language use.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with students from a variety of linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to use digital platforms to instruct, communicate, and record program data.

• Record of completed COVID-19 vaccine or confirmed medical/religious exemption required.
• Compliance with current COVID-19 protocols of the organization.

• Saturdays, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, starting immediately through spring 2026.
• Opportunities to substitute at other locations possible.

• Base pay range: $50.00/hr - $50.00/hr
• Salary Range: $50 To 50 (USD) Hourly
