Position Title:

Special Education Teacher (ICT - NY)

Summary: The ICT teacher's role is to enhance the learning experience of students with special needs by implementing district-approved curriculum. Responsibilities include documenting student progress, addressing individual needs, and creating a safe learning environment. This is a co-teaching position, requiring collaboration with general education teachers.

Compensation: Base Salary - Certified: $72,500; $2,000 Testing Grade;
Additional for advanced degrees ($3,000 for master’s, $5,000 for doctorate); $200/year for applicable experience.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Secondary Education Certification in Childhood Education (1-6) and Students with Disabilities (SWD).
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to confidentiality.
• Pre-employment requirements include background check, health screening, and Tuberculin test.
• Driver’s license preferred.

Environmental Conditions:

• Prolonged sitting or standing.
• Occasional physical exertion.
• Ability to work in noisy environments.
• Some travel required.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Support the mission of iLearn Schools.
• Maintain professionalism and ethical behavior.
• Develop and implement IEPs and behavior plans.
• Coordinate with outside agencies.
• Engage in professional development.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and staff.
• Perform assessments and support student growth.
• Other duties as assigned.
