Brilla Schools is a growing K-8 network in the Bronx serving over 2,000 students with plans to expand. We are dedicated to forming students of strong wisdom and virtue through a classically inspired approach that combines a content-rich curriculum, inquiry-driven learning, and individualized support.
Position: 2025-26 Elementary School Math Teacher (2nd-4th Grade)
Base pay range$70,000.00/yr - $/yr
Position OverviewAll Brilla teachers share a belief that scholars can achieve excellent academic outcomes and receive robust character education. Key responsibilities and drivers to achieving outcomes include:
- Understanding, planning, and executing elements of innovative pedagogy and data-based decision-making through a love of learning
- Establishing and maintaining a highly structured, welcoming classroom culture
- Modeling courage, justice, wisdom, and self-control while maintaining a positive, flexible attitude
- Managing multiple concurrent tasks while inspiring outstanding achievement in scholars
- Developing meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues to foster a love of learning
- Brilla’s Elementary School Math teachers are content experts who foster environments where all scholars access grade-level standards and demonstrate growth
- Participate in ongoing professional development, coaching cycles, and daily intellectual prep
- Implement data analysis practices and respond urgently to student data
- Establish and communicate standards and content-based objectives, regularly evaluating progress toward mastery
- Internalize the provided curriculum and teach rigorous, classically-inspired lessons aligned to Brilla’s growth targets for 2nd–4th grade
- Collaborate vertically with Math content teachers and laterally with grade-level teachers
- Partner with families to nurture home-to-school connections and shared accountability
- Unwavering commitment to the Brilla Schools mission
- Dedication to providing students with an academically robust, joyful learning experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Current elementary teaching certification (preferred)
- Relevant urban elementary teaching experience with demonstrated student results (preferred)
- Special Education credential and experience (highly preferred)
