Salary Range: $81,000 - $178,000. The position on the scale will be based on years of teaching experience and education.

We are seeking a full-time Physical Education Teacher beginning September 2026. This position includes teaching Physical Education classes across multiple grade levels, coaching responsibilities, and other departmental duties, in alignment with the values and ethical standards of The Dalton School.
The Physical Education Teacher reports to the Director of Athletics and Physical Education and contributes to the development and implementation of a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate Physical Education curriculum.
Responsibility- Teach multiple sections of Physical Education classes across grades 3–12.
- Implement, revise, and plan a developmentally appropriate and comprehensive Physical Education curriculum.
- Coach middle school teams and at least one high school team each academic year.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with colleagues, students, and parents regarding student progress and program activities.
- Participate in professional learning and contribute to ongoing departmental development.
- Perform additional duties as necessary in support of the Physical Education and Athletics programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Prior experience teaching Physical Education across multiple grade levels.
- Demonstrated ability to coach at least one varsity-level sport.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational ability, and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to professional growth and reflective practice.
- Ability to work flexibly within a dynamic school environment.
