Position: Adjunct Position (Business & Society Program, part-time, non tenure-track)

Adjunct Position – Business & Society Program (Part‑Time, Non‑Tenure)

NYU Stern School of Business invites an adjunct faculty member to teach Professional Responsibility & Leadership (PRL), a discussion seminar for undergraduates. The instructor will design and facilitate interactive learning, foster reflective dialogue, and maintain a supportive classroom environment.

Course Description

PRL is interdisciplinary, drawing on philosophy, literature, history, art, and the natural and social sciences. Each session will incorporate student experience, academic insight, and relevant business cases. The instructor will create a student‑centered discussion seminar that combines discussion, in‑class reading and writing, role‑playing, and other reflective exercises.

Course Objectives
  • Reflect on career choice, professional conduct, and human flourishing.
  • Think systematically about moral and ethical dilemmas.
  • Cultivate reflective dialogue with diverse stakeholders.
Instructor Responsibilities
  • Review course material and adhere to the provided syllabus.
  • Attend annual virtual meetings of course lecturers or stay current through documents and emails.
  • Create a comfortable classroom environment and offer office hours support as requested.
Qualifications
  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Demonstrated interest in teaching; successful teaching experience is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, observational, and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Compensation

Pay Transparency Act compliant contact hour rate: $350‑$400, based on the Local 7902 agreement.
