Lead Teacher (2s classroom) – The Learning Experience Upper West Side
Location: New York, NY (Upper West Side)
Pay: $23–$26 per hour (based on education & experience)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
About The Learning ExperienceThe Learning Experience – Upper West Side is seeking a warm, skilled, and enthusiastic Lead Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. Our center provides a joyful, structured, and hands‑on learning environment where children explore, grow, and thrive.
If you are pursuing or have completed a BA or AA in Early Childhood Education
, or are actively working toward your credential, this is an excellent opportunity to continue your professional growth in a supportive, high‑quality preschool setting.
- Lead and manage a preschool classroom that supports social, emotional, academic, and physical development.
- Implement The Learning Experience L.E.A.P. Curriculum using play-based and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Build strong relationships with families through daily communication, progress updates, and engagement.
- Collaborate with assistant teachers to maintain consistency, structure, and a positive classroom culture.
- Ensure compliance with NYC childcare regulations and center safety standards.
- Model professionalism, teamwork, and best practices in early childhood education.
- BA or AA in Early Childhood Education
, or currently enrolled and working toward completion (required). - Minimum 6 months of professional childcare or preschool teaching experience
. - Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Must meet all NYC and state childcare licensing requirements.
