Assistant/Associate/ Full Professor Veterinary Small Animal Medicine
Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor – Small Animal Medicine with the Long Island University College of Veterinary Medicine (LIU-CVM) in Brookville, New York. The position is a full‑time, tenure or clinical‑track faculty role that focuses on education, research, and service activities. Successful candidates will be engaged in clinical and didactic teaching, supervision of the small animal medicine clinical clerkship, and active participation in the Veterinary Skills courses offered in semesters 1 to 6 of the DVM program.
No clinical duty is expected, but opportunities to collaborate with affiliate practices are available.
- Clinical and didactic teaching in the small animal medicine course and laboratories.
- Supervision of the small animal medicine clinical clerkship.
- Active participation in Veterinary Skills courses offered in semesters 1 to 6 of the DVM program.
- Collaboration with affiliate practices (no clinical duty expected).
- Active engagement in curriculum development, creation of innovative learning resources, and committee service (e.g., admissions, curriculum, research).
- Development of independent or collaborative research in small animal medicine within and outside LIU, including work with LIU‑CVM partners/affiliate veterinary hospitals.
- DVM or equivalent degree with expertise in small animal medicine.
- Specialty board certification or eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM SA) or equivalent.
- Advanced training in small animal medicine and research with a PhD is desired.
- Working knowledge of curricular design and implementation.
- Proven ability to promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
- Strong interpersonal skills with university administration, veterinary education community, faculty, students, and alumni.
