R0006889# Summary The Biomedical Sciences (BMS) program is a master’s degree program that prepares graduate students for the rigors of medical, dental, and other biomedical professional degree programs. The BMS program is offered in the HyFlex modality; professors teach in person in the classroom with both in-person and fully online student attendees.

The Biomedical Sciences program is seeking a full-time faculty member with expertise and experience in teaching Histology & Cell Biology. Additional courses related to biomedical science areas of study may be occasionally assigned. The BMS Histology & Cell Biology curriculum is equal to the rigor of that taught in medical schools, and the ideal candidate will have the background knowledge and teaching experience to deliver the content at the expected level.

Full-time faculty in the BMS program are expected to contribute to Barry University in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service.

The anticipated start date for this position is August 16, 2024.# Essential Functions The Assistant Professor of Biomedical Sciences will be expected to teach Histology & Cell Biology lecture and lab courses every semester (Fall, Spring, Summer) and at least one elective BMS course per year. The position requires academic advising of 50-70 BMS graduate students as they progress through the program.

In addition, the faculty member is expected to participate in scholarship and research within their area of expertise, presenting and publishing on a regular basis. All full-time faculty at Barry University are expected to serve the university by participating in university governance and sitting on university committees.# Qualifications/Requirements
* The ideal candidate must hold a doctoral-level degree (Ph.D., M.D., D.O., or D.P.M.) in biomedical sciences and must be able to demonstrate the ability to lecture on and clearly communicate topics related to Histology & Cell Biology.
* Experience teaching Histology & Cell Biology at the graduate level is preferred, but not required.
* The candidate must be located in or be able to relocate to the South Florida area and is expected to be present to teach lectures in person at the BMS campus in Hollywood, Florida.
