Part-time (.LTS Special Education Teacher

The Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District has an opening for a Part-Time (.6) LTS Special Education Teacher. The successful candidate will need to:

• Demonstrate fluent understanding of NYS Learning Standards;
• Demonstrate strong skills and knowledge in ELA, literacy, content-area vocabulary instruction, and mathematics;
• Maintain a recovery mindset;
• Demonstrate an understanding of co-teaching methodology, differentiated, and blended learning;
• Demonstrate the ability to understand and implement IEP goals;
• Effectively manage several students, projects, and schedules simultaneously in a high-paced environment;
• Able to build a positive rapport with students and parents;
• Demonstrate the willingness to work with different learning styles and learning needs;
• Demonstrate excellent written and spoken communication skills;
• Demonstrate ability to work effectively with colleagues with successful experience in working as part of a team;
• Make a strong commitment to professional learning and a growth mindset.

• Completion of a NYS Registered Program – Students with Disabilities 7-12 - Generalist
• Institutional Recommendation – Students with Disabilities, 7-12 - Generalist
• New York State Teacher Certification Exam – Educating All Students Test (EAS)
• Content Specialty Test (CST) – 7-12 Science, Social Studies, English Language Arts, or Mathematics
• edTPA – Special Education
• Workshop – Dignity For All Students Act
• Workshop – Autism 7-12
• Experience working with deaf/blind individuals, preferred
• Experience working with individuals with social/emotional/behavioral needs, preferred
