Job Profile Summary

The college invites applications for a full‑time contract‑eligible teaching position in English. This position is a yearly two‑semester (163‑day) contract that begins in August 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate mastery of one’s discipline, commitment to the college mission, technological competence, and ability to engage students in learning.
  • Employ teaching methods that accommodate varied academic preparation and incorporate appropriate technology across instruction modalities.
  • Facilitate the needs of different learners by implementing responsive pedagogical techniques and effective practices.
  • Adapt instructional, relational, and classroom practices to better support students.
  • Engage in student consultation, course preparation, review of outlines, and syllabus development.
  • Provide prompt, constructive support to students through regular office hours and timely feedback.
  • Respond to student emails promptly.
  • Adhere to reporting deadlines such as grade processing, enrollment verification, syllabus submission, and textbook adoption.
  • Participate in service to the college and its community.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, assessment of learning outcomes, shared decision‑making, faculty organizations, and departmental reviews.
  • Engage in continued professional development, such as attending conferences.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Master’s degree in Composition/Rhetoric, Creative Writing, English, Language Arts/English Education, Linguistics, or Literature (or equivalent).
  • Master’s degree plus 18 graduate semester hours in the same fields.
  • Ph.D. preferred.
  • A high level of digital literacy and commitment to teaching.
