Program Director for Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship

Overview

Valley Health System in affiliation with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is actively recruiting a Program Director for Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship. This position presents the opportunity to design, develop and operate a new training program as well as maintain a clinical practice  Fellowship Program Director will provide quality education in a clinical environment, serve diverse patients, and contribute to scholarly activity.

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical and leadership skills, a proven track record of academic excellence, and knowledge of ACGME policies and procedures. The role includes a broad scope of practice to meet the needs of the Fellowship program and the community  position requires spending 80% of time on clinical responsibilities and 20% on administrative responsibilities as Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship Program Director.

• Design, develop and operate a new Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship training program.
• Maintain an active clinical practice and participate in quality education within a clinical environment.
• Engage in scholarly activities and contribute to peer reviewed journals; mentor residents to foster scholarly interest.
• Collaborate with faculty and residents to support program growth and provide a broad scope of clinical service to meet community needs.

• An MD or DO
• Board eligible or certification in Palliative Care and Hospice Medicine
• Minimum 3 years of Graduate Medical Education experience required; GME leadership is preferred
• Existing or eligibility for New Jersey Medical License, DEA and CDS required
