Dermatology Physician Assistant

Essen Health Care is the place Where Care Comes Together. We are hiring a Physician Assistant to support doctors’ work, actively facilitate patients’ recovery, and provide care under physician direction to a diverse patient population.

The Physician Assistant will support doctors’ work and actively facilitate patients’ recovery. You will apply medical techniques and principles under the direction of a physician and you will deal with a diverse set of patients offering them care and encouragement.

• Take medical histories
• Perform physical exams, including skin cancer screening exams
• Diagnose and treat skin conditions, such as acne, eczema, and rosacea
• Order and interpret tests
• Perform biopsies, wide excisions, and cryotherapy
• Develop treatment plans
• Prescribe medication
• Provide information about preventive care
• Perform certain minimally and non-invasive cosmetic procedures, such as Botox injections, laser skin resurfacing, and mild or moderate chemical peels
• Assist in surgeries, such as Mohs surgery

• Master’s Degree required
• Active New York license as a Physician Assistant and at least 6 months of working experience as a PA in Dermatology
• Currently New York Controlled Substance and Drug Enforcement Registration
• Graduate of an approved PA Program with post-graduate training in surgery or at least one year of equivalent work experience
• Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Experience in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Acute Care preferred
• LP or BLS/ACLS and DOT certification preferred
• Spanish language skills a plus
• Proven work experience as a physician assistant or nurse
• Knowledge of EMR systems preferred
• J1 Waiver and CONRAD 30 Waiver candidates welcome

Salary: $135,000–$150,000. Salary may include bonuses and incentives.
