Behavioral Rehabilitation Unit

Northwell Health – Sleepy Hollow, NY

Northwell Health’s Department of Behavioral Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health team at Phelps Hospital
. We are recruiting for a highly motivated practitioner who has outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills and is able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Addiction training preferred, but not required.

This is a unique opportunity to join the inpatient team at Phelps Hospital to support a 22-bed, 28-day substance use rehabilitation unit which provides acute and around-the-clock care to patients 18 years old and older. We specialize in treatment of adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. The program provides individualized, goal-centered treatment by an interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, behavioral health counselors, licensed social workers, a behavioral health assistant and recreational therapists.

All admissions to the Behavioral Rehabilitation Unit are clinically reviewed and coordinated through our admissions department. General medical care is provided to the patients by the Hospitalist service.

Phelps Memorial is a 238-bed community hospital situated on a scenic 70-acre campus along the Hudson River in Sleepy Hollow, NY, just 40 minutes to NYC. Phelps offers a broad range of community hospital services in Westchester. The hospital has an OMH-licensed 22-bed inpatient psychiatric unit as well as an OASAS-licensed 20-bed inpatient chemical dependence rehabilitation unit. There is an OMH-licensed outpatient Clinic as well as a Continuing Day Treatment Program.

An OASAS-licensed outpatient chemical dependence unit which provides Day Rehabilitation as well as Clinic level services is co-located at the OMH Clinic site. The hospital also has a Care Management program which supports our patients.
