Dane Street is expanding our physician panel! This is a telework opportunity for supplemental income for physicians providing a caseload customized to your schedule. Our physician panel is comprised of independent contract reviewers (1099) compensated on a per-case basis.

The ideal candidates will hold a NY license and be Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, with experience in completing Independent Medical Exams. The ideal candidate will be New York State Workers' Comp certified. Independent Medical Exams are available to be completed across the state of New York.

Requirements

  • As Physician Reviewer/Advisor, you will utilize clinical expertise to review insurance appeals and claims, providing interpretations of the medical necessity of services in compliance with client policies, evidence-based guidelines, and standards of care.
  • Review all medical records and address each question posed by the client using specific criteria or recognized evidence-based standards.
  • Ensure that your determinations are well-supported, clear, and concise, with adequate documentation.
  • Utilize current guidelines and literature to support your decisions, avoiding limited sample studies like case cohorts.
  • Provide copies of criteria used in your reviews promptly.
  • Complete cases by their due date and time.
  • Make mandated phone calls as required by state or client specifics.
  • Maintain proper credentials, licenses, and certifications necessary for the role.
  • Attend all required training and orientation sessions.
  • Perform additional duties such as responding to quality assurance issues, regulatory matters, or participating in depositions and court appearances.
  • Board certification and active practice are required.
