- Examining patients who may need physical therapy.
- Diagnosing pain resulting from injury, disease, or disabling conditions.
- Determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans.
- Recommending and performing medical procedures such as trigger point injections, soft tissue, and joint injections to treat pain and improve physical functioning.
- Leading a team of medical professionals, including physical therapists, to optimize patient care.
- Monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Performs or supervises electrodiagnostic testing (EMG – NCV).
- Provides counseling to patients and families, helping them adapt to lifestyle changes.
- Orders clinically appropriate imaging and diagnostic tests such as X-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, and MRIs.
- Recommends consultation with orthopedists, neurologists, psychologists, spine specialists, and pain management clinicians.
- Conducts initial evaluations to assess a patient’s need and ability to participate in rehabilitation.
- Performs periodic re‑evaluations to determine progress and modify or discontinue treatment.
- Prescribes appropriate orthotic devices and checks for proper fitting.
- Maintains complete medical records of all services and patient progress.
- Documents ranges of motion using a handheld goniometer.
- Performs other duties as requested.
- Preferred experience in an outpatient musculoskeletal practice.
- Knowledge of various physical rehabilitation treatments and programs for different injuries.
- Leadership experience with physical therapists, assistants, and monitoring job performance based on patient care.
- Ability to treat patients of all ages.
- Experience with injections and prescription writing.
- Experience helping patients determine pain management strategies.
- M.D./D.O.
- Board‑Certified or Board‑Eligible with the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR).
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent bedside manner.
- Effective communication and empathy with patients.
- Strong interpersonal, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Organized, personable, compassionate, and detail‑oriented.
- Extensive standing, walking, lifting, positioning, and transferring of patients.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- W2 base salary commensurate with skills/experience, starting at $270k.
- Employee benefits, paid time off, and paid company holidays.
- Additional quarterly bonus based on RVU productivity.
This position requires travel between Tremont & New Rochelle.
