Regional Leadership Position in Interventional Pulmonology
South Shore University Hospital, Bay Shore, NY – Northwell Health
North Shore University Hospital, part of a large integrated health system in the New York metropolitan area, is seeking a BC/BE Interventional Pulmonologist for a regional leadership role within its Interventional Pulmonology (IP) program.
This is a unique opportunity to lead and further develop a high‑volume multidisciplinary Interventional Pulmonology service supported by state‑of‑the‑art technology and robust institutional resources.
Position Highlights- Regional leadership role in Interventional Pulmonology

- Regular multidisciplinary case conferences
- Dedicated navigation team working closely with:
- Interventional Pulmonology
- Lung Cancer Screening (LCS)
- Incidental Pulmonary Nodule Programs
- Thoracic Surgery
- Medical Oncology
- Primary Care
- Access to the highest quality equipment, including advanced robotic platforms, Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS), Bronchoscopic Lung Volume Reduction (BLVR), and other cutting‑edge bronchoscopic and pleural technologies
- Strong institutional support for program growth, innovation, and protocol standardization
The successful candidate will have expertise and interest in many of the following areas:
- Lung nodule evaluation and management
- Complex airway disease management
- Pleural disease management
- Development and standardization of diagnostic and treatment protocols
- Airway stent placement and dilation
- Bronchoscopic Lung Volume Reduction (BLVR)
- Foreign body removal
- Robotic bronchoscopy
- Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)
- Medical pleuroscopy / thoracoscopy
- Board‑Certified or Board‑Eligible in Interventional Pulmonology and Pulmonary Medicine
